Ghana Armed Forces Launches Nationwide Recruitment Drive for 12,000 Personnel

Deputy Defence Minister Brogya Genfi has unveiled a significant recruitment initiative by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) aimed at boosting national security and defence capabilities.

Starting this week, the GAF plans to enlist 12,000 new personnel over the next three years. Mr. Genfi highlighted that, in keeping with President John Dramani Mahama’s dedication to fairness and accessibility, the cost of recruitment forms has been slashed by over 40% compared to previous years.

To promote inclusivity, recruitment will be carried out in all regions, ensuring equal access for applicants nationwide. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the selection process will be transparent and strictly based on merit, warning citizens to beware of fraudulent schemes.

“Joining the Ghana Armed Forces is not for sale and will never be for sale under our #EagleEyes watch,” he declared, adding that anyone caught in recruitment fraud will face severe consequences.

He also clarified that recruitment will not be conducted via social media. Instead, official details including eligibility criteria, procedures, and regional centres will be available on the Ministry of Defence and GAF websites, as well as in selected newspapers and electronic media outlets.

Mr. Genfi concluded by reaffirming the government’s commitment to building a disciplined, inclusive, and professional military that embodies Ghana’s strength and unity.
